Our Heritage
Gateway Secondary School, formerly Ijeja High School, was established on 26th September 1980 at Ijeja in Abeokuta with seven dedicated founding staff members. From humble beginnings in temporary classrooms, our school made its journey through multiple locations before finding its permanent home in the heart of Owu area of Abeokuta on Friday, 13th March 1987.
The Gateway Secondary School Abeokuta Old Students' Association (GASSAOSA) was founded on 17th December 1980, just months after the school's establishment. Our mission has remained steadfast: to foster unity among alumni and contribute to the educational, social, environmental, structural and economic development of our beloved alma mater.
